I have recently purchased my own version of eclipse student. now, my stentura protege is not able to communicate with eclipse. I have no idea what to do... I'm running windows 7, and have the usb cord connected to my laptop. This machine has worked at school when connected so I know there's nothing wrong with the cord or machine. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am quickly falling behind in homework! Thaeupb/bg kwrou! =)

Connecting Stentura Protege

With your writer connected to your computer, go into your computer's Device Manager. Look for your writer in the list of devices. If it is not listed and there is an exclamation or question mark for other or unknown device, it sounds like you may not have installed the drivers for your writer. Click on the other or unknown device and the Found New Hardware wizard should appear. Follow the prompts to install the drivers for your writer. Reboot your computer after installing the drivers. If you continue to have problems after that, please call support while you are at that computer with your writer connected for additional troubleshooting.

On your computer, open

On your computer, open Eclipse and go to Alt U (user settings), Input tab.  Make sure the setting at the top says Stentura Protege so Eclipse knows what kind of writer it's communicating with.  If it says something else, change it using the drop-down list.  You'll also see a setting there Realtime From.  Click the arrow by it to see the drop-down list and choose USB port if you're connecting your writer to the computer with a standard USB cable.Laura

What do I do if I don't HAVE

What do I do if I don't HAVE "Stentura Protege" in my available list of writers for the Input tab?  My version of Eclipse is supposedly the latest up-to-date student version.
