Whenever I try to insert the word "that", as soon as I hit enter it immediately changes it to the word "issue". Has this ever happened to anybody?

Not sure this is the answer, but it's worth a shot: Open User Settings (ALT-U), click on the" Programming" tab, then double-click "Autoreplacements," and go through the list and see if there's a line item with "issue=that." If there is, delete it. If it's not there, try doing the same thing with "Typeover tracking."
