Hardware Recommendations
The recommendations below are intended to help you choose a system that will provide the performance, stability, and reliability needed for Eclipse software. Requirements vary depending on whether you are writing steno, voice, or using Eclipse RSR.
Eclipse Steno | AccuCap Steno
For stenographic writing, we recommend a business-class system with:
- Processor: Intel i5 or better, 3.0 GHz or faster
- RAM: 16 GB minimum
The system should be paired with a solid-state drive (SSD) for faster performance and reliability.
Multiple USB ports are recommended. Older writers may require a serial adapter.
If using Boost or Boost Flow locally, refer to Eclipse RSR requirements below.
EclipseVox | AccuCapVox
For voice writing, we recommend a high-performance system with:
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 or Intel i7 (or better), 3.5 GHz or faster
- RAM: 16 GB minimum, 32 GB recommended
The system should be paired with a solid-state drive (SSD) for fast, reliable performance.
Dragon 16 and a properly configured system are essential for realtime performance.
If using Boost or Boost Flow locally, refer to Eclipse RSR requirements below.
