This comprehensive session is designed for reporters seeking to maximize performance using Speechmatics for Vox. Attendees will learn recommended hardware configurations, optimal engine and system settings, and best practices for achieving consistent, high-quality recognition.

A deep dive into vocabulary building will cover strategies for creating, managing, and refining vocabularies to continually improve accuracy. By the end of the session, participants will have a clear framework for building and maintaining high-performing vocabularies for shorthand reporting.

Trainer Qualifications & Bio

Amy Armstrong, CVR-RVR, CART Captioner

Amy is a freelance shorthand writer and instructor with over a decade of experience as a working court reporter and captioner in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, Canada. An alumna of the International Realtime Court Reporting Institute, she teaches shorthand theory, Dragon Speech Recognition Engine, and Eclipse CAT softwares. Amy continues to cover complex litigation continentwide, providing realtime transcription in criminal courts, as well as high-profile captioning for world leaders and celebrities. She has served on the Board of Directors of the National Verbatim Reporters Association. As “Stenovox” on Instagram, Amy shares engaging, educational content that challenges industry norms and reimagines the role of the voicewriting stenographer.

Amy offers personal coaching, bootcamps, webinars, and in-person continuing education instruction at conventions and conferences across North America.

Ashli was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, moving to Florida and joining the Advantage Software team in 2010.  At Advantage, Ashli got her start in tech support, and she quickly netted a reputation as a go-to person for help with extraordinary Eclipse questions and for discussing ideas. Over the years she has worked intimately with the Eclipse development team and has played a key role in many version releases. She has been involved with product research, quality assurance, technical writing, and customer education. She especially loves demoing the benefits of Eclipse and showing off its latest features!
